The Bergen Railway is renowned as one of the world's most picturesque train journeys. Connecting Norway's two major cities, Oslo and Bergen, the route offers breathtaking views, with the highlight being its traverse over the Hardangervidda, Europe's highest mountain plateau. Spanning 300 miles, the railway winds through 200 tunnels, 18 miles of snow sheds, and crosses over 300 bridges. Popular with both tourists and commuters, it caters to several ski resorts and is equally bustling in winter as in summer. The trip between Oslo and Bergen takes about seven hours, showcasing stunning landscapes year-round.

If you have extra time, consider a detour on the Flåm Railway upon reaching Myrdal. This scenic ride descends to the village of Flåm, where you can embark on a cruise of the majestic Sognefjord, Norway's longest fjord. The journey is marked by dramatic scenery, including steep mountain slopes, deep ravines, and numerous waterfalls.

There is no accommodation on board this train as it is a day-time service. As with most of Norway's rail journeys, carriages are clean and comfortable, with efficient staff and service.
Food for purchase is available in the buffet carriage.

Pricing varies based on the journey, cabin preference, season of travel & more.
