The Qinghai-Tibet railway is the highest altitude railway in the world. You'll witness thousands of miles of unrivalled landscapes. See wild animals through the train window; and enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty of Plateau lakes and snow-covered mountains along the train line. The train from Chengdu to Lhasa made its debut on July 2, 2006, one day later than the train from Beijing to Lhasa.  The journey takes nearly 36 and half hours covering a distance of 3070 kilometres.
