The Canadian is VIA Rail Canada’s flagship train. Linking Toronto and Vancouver, the Canadian is one of the world’s most legendary and popular longhaul journeys. Whether for its breathtaking landscapes, its attentive and courteous service or its outstanding dining, this train has inspired decades of fond memories. The Canadian hurtles for three days and nights across the second-largest country in the world, between Toronto and Vancouver. It is not only an instant geography lesson, it is a journey into history. You will cross the immense boreal forest reflected in the lakes of northern Ontario, then move onward through the western Prairies and the breathtaking Rockies. 

The Canadian cars now benefit from an all-new design. Carpets, colours, materials: it’s all been brought together to update the historic cachet of these magnificent cars. An elegant ambience and cosy cabins make travelling on board the Canadian more than ever a one-of-a-kind experience.
BERTH

A berth is suitable for one person.

CABIN FOR TWO
A cabin for two is designed for two people.  
Room size: 7 ft. 2¾ in. X 4 ft. 11 in. (220 cm x 151 cm), excluding 2 ft. 9 in. x 2 ft. 1 in. (84 cm x 64 cm) for private washroom
Private washroom available inside each double bedroom
Mirror over sink with electric razor outlet (110 VAC)
Individual control for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system
Storage for one piece of carry-on baggage
Daytime: two folding chairs
Night-time: upper and lower beds replace chairs
Large window with blind
Exclusive access to a shower room (one shower room per car)
Shower towels and amenity bag for body care articles
Other amenities: small closet, drinking water, paper and towels, pillows, sheets and blankets supplied.


The Skyline Car has a coffee shop, a lounge and a vista dome. The Park car has an observation and lounge section. The Dining Car has seats in groups of 4 where dinner is served to Sleeper Class guests only.

Guests in the sleeper class have all meals included and served in the dining car (not including alcoholic drinks). For dinner, there are three seatings, served with china, silver and linen and featuring local wines. Coffee, tea, fruit and cookies are offered for free in the Park and Skyline cars to sleeper class guests while Economy class guests can purchase their food in the Skyline Car. Complete meals, snack bar, hot drinks, refreshments and alcoholic drinks are available at affordable prices.
