The Award Winning ’Sunlander’ rail journey is a favourite amongst travellers wishing to experience the highlights of Australia’s east coast from Brisbane to the Tropical North. This beautiful, classic train meanders its way along Australia's incredible north-eastern coastline of the Gold and Sunshine Coasts in the south via tropical lowlands, mountain ranges, parklands and pure white sands to where the Great Barrier Reef meets the timeless Daintree Wilderness in the north.

The Sunlander takes approximately 32 hours between Brisbane and Cairns and travels three times a week in either direction with many stops along the way to choose from. On board the Sunlander you’ll experience more than just a train journey, travelling in Queenslander class, for ultimate comfort, you’ll gain first hand experience into Queensland’s local heritage, culture and landscapes, set to a backdrop of fine dining, first-class accommodation and service.

Queenslander Class
Queenslander class is the premium, all inclusive cabin, featuring private twin berth accommodation (bunk bedding) by night and a two-seater lounge by day. Full panoramic windows, washbasin, wardrobe & full length mirror are also located in cabins. A fine dining restaurant car exclusive to Queenslander class guests including a la carte menus and live entertainment in the lounge car. Showers and toilets are conveniently located at the end of the carriage.

Economy Class Sleepers and Seats
Economy Class offers a choice of single, twin or triple berth sleepers, or coach style seating. Bathroom facilities are conveniently located at the end of the carriage.

• Single berth sleeper:  cabins feature a single seat which converts to a single berth at night. All compartments feature a washbasin, wardrobe, reading lights and power point (240v AC). Full bedding and towels are provided.
• Twin berth sleeper:  cabins feature a three seater lounge which converts to upper and lower sleeping berths at night, complete with fresh linen and pillows. Cabins feature 240 volt power points, private vanity, wardrobes, full length mirror, reading lamps and foldaway table.
• Triple berth sleeper:  cabins feature a three seater lounge which converts into bunk sleeper berths at night. A blanket, lower sheet, pillow and pillowslip are provided for each economy berth. Cabins feature 240 volt power points, private vanity, wardrobes, full length mirror, reading lamps and foldaway table.
• Economy Seats:  These comfortable seats may be reclined to the desired position by pressing a button on the arm rest. A fold down table and foot rest is provided, however pillows and blankets are not. All economy seating carriages are open saloon cars with overhead luggage racks and individual reading lights.

Economy Class Dining
Economy Class passengers have access to meals, snacks and beverages through the Buffet Car and Club Car. Sit down and enjoy a meal with fellow passengers in the Buffet Car, which serves a wide variety of tasty dishes ranging from succulent roasts to flavoursome curries.
